Do you have someone who has impacted your life in a positive way? Were they influential in your life? Did they have a life-changing effect on you? Have you ever thought to reach out and tell them? Why not?
I encourage you to do so. It may be good for their soul as well as yours.
Don’t wait.
Instead of the “wish I would have” thoughts corrupting your brain, I encourage you to immediately seek out who has influenced your life if you are able to do so. If you haven’t, acknowledging their efforts can be rewarding for you both.
Reaching out doesn’t need to be complicated, it’s simple stuff. While a personal touch is much more desired, an email, a text or a phone call is a start. With social media, you can message them. Post on their wall. If they’re close enough, invite them to lunch. Make a little noise. Make a lot of noise.
Years ago, Oprah Winfrey set off a movement called “Pay It Forward” that is still in use today. I’d like to suggest you take Oprah’s advice, and add another.
I’m going to call my suggestion “Pay It Back“. You can steal it. Call it pay it backwards. Give it back. Call it whatever you’d like. Do it before it’s too late.
I recently came across this while researching a “top secret” project I’m currently working on with someone who inspired and influenced me.
Pay It Back
If someone impacted your life, pay it back. If you have the chance, I strongly suggest you take it. If not given a chance, create it.
Is it in you? I hope so. As one brother has put it so eloquently:
“Be kinder than necessary.”
Kevin
I am sure, we all have someone who has impacted our lives. It is a great idea to pay it back. Sometimes, some people are too shy to express what they feel even though they are extremely grateful for words of wisdom or a smile or kind words or a warm hug that they received.

Yes, they are. Admittedly, I was one of those people who thought it didn’t matter for a long time… Something changed in me and I found it more important to speak – and now I don’t shut up! 🙂
